Behind the American Dream

Each month’s newsletter, we’ll spotlight a variety of designers from different backgrounds and focuses. For our first designer spotlight, we have the internationally renowned Alejandro Magallanes, a graphic designer, illustrator, poet, and artist. Magallanes specializes in designing posters and book covers, and experiments with video, poetry, sculpture, and photography in his design work.

Magallanes also founded La Máquina del Tiempo (Time Machine), a studio that’s been dedicated to graphic communication projects since ‘96. His posters have won awards in numerous countries. He has created more than 300 works, which have been exhibited in Poland, Japan, Canada, France, Mexico, and many other places. He belongs to the La Corriente Eléctrica and Fuera de Registro collectives, and has been a member of the AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) since ‘04.
