Hello Again!

We’re nearing the end of the semester! Next month, we only have a few events left, and we will be hosting a food drive for the Tarrant Area Food Bank. This will last from Nov 10th to Nov 21st. Please donate your dried/boxed food items to the boxes in CVAD’s Resource Room (2nd Floor). More info coming!

Fall Break is also approaching and is from Nov. 24th to Nov. 30th. Take this time to rest, spend more time with friends, family, or whoever! Happy Fall!

Fall Freshman Support

Join us, Nov. 6th from 7-9 pm for our yearly freshman support event! This is for design pre-major freshmen looking to get into the graphic design program. We’ll review sketchbooks, go through design practices, and provide support for your journey getting into the program.

AIGA Dallas Deck Reveal Party

Witness this year’s limited edition card deck reveal on Nov. 13th 6-8 pm, at the Gallery DeFi, Dallas. Tickets are $23.50 for non-members or $7.50 for members. Mingle, get a free deck, and walk through the immersive exhibit at Gallery DeFi!

This month, we’re featuring Kel Lauren in our monthly Designer Spotlight! Kel Lauren is a merchandise designer based in Portland, Oregon. Well known for their poster, merchandise, and album packaging design, they primarily freelance for Bravado/Universal Music Group and the Warner Music Group, and have designed work for famous singers like Ariana Grande, Gracie Abrams, The Jonas Brothers, Kid Cudi, The Rollingstones, and so many others.

Kel is also on YouTube offering free graphic design resources, career and design tips, and other advice into their process. Definitely check out their channel for more of their process, fun rebrands, and merch designs!
